Its color printing is slow and lacks gloss, but the FS-C5150DN is excellent value for money
Single channel color laser, 21ppm print speed, USB, 10/100 Ethernet, PictBridge USB, 370x390x523mm
Kyocera's FS-C5150DN is a heavy-duty printer designed to handle the high page yields required by small and medium businesses. Unlike many competitors, Kyocera does not quote a one-time maximum monthly duty cycle figure. Instead, it recommends that if you want the printer to run smoothly for as long as possible, the maximum monthly average print volume should not exceed 9,000 pages. It is worth noting that the printer has a 100,000-page OPC drum, which is not designed for replacement, which means that it may be more cost-effective to replace the printer when the drum is exhausted.
Because the fixed drum saves costs, the printing cost and total cost of ownership of FS-C5150DN are very low. If your printing needs are small, you can only spend £333 in three years, which is good value for money, but users who do medium to heavy printing will benefit the most. If you print 500 monochrome pages and 250 color pages a month in three years, you only need to spend £1,180. This is much lower than what you spend with most Kyocera competitors.
It is not particularly attractive, but FS-C5150DN can be upgraded on a large scale.
FS-C5150DN is big and heavy, and not particularly attractive. Compared with the more compact color laser, its assembly is a bit more complicated. In addition to the four toner cartridges, there is a waste toner bottle, but its clear operating instructions mean that we have no major problems with the physical setup, although Its ink cartridge locking system is a bit cumbersome. The FS-C5150DN can also be upgraded on a large scale to accommodate up to four additional paper trays with a maximum paper capacity of 1,250 pages. Out of the box, it has an input and output capacity of 250 pages.
